The 10 yard in detail
Dimensions: 12 ft long × 8 ft wide × 3.5 ft high
Holds about: 3 to 4 pickup truck loads
Weight allowance: 1 to 2 tons included, with the overage rate per ton quoted at booking
The 10 yard exists for two very different reasons. The first is small jobs where a bigger container would just be paying for air — a guest bathroom, a garage, a shed clearout. The second, and more important, is heavy material.
Concrete runs about two tons per cubic yard. Ceramic tile, brick and old plaster and lath sand are all in the same territory. Load any of those into a large container and you hit road weight limits long before the container is full — which is why we will steer you to a 10 yard for concrete work even though it looks small. It is not a limitation of the container. It is the physics of what you are throwing away.
Low sides help too. At three and a half feet, you can throw material over the wall without a ramp, which matters when you are handling broken slab by hand.
Best suited to
- Bathroom remodels and single-room renovations
- Concrete, block, brick and paver removal
- Ceramic and porcelain tile tear-out
- Garage or shed clearouts
- Small deck, fence or shed demolition
- Brick, block and masonry removal
What to choose something else for
- Whole-house cleanouts
- Full kitchen renovations with cabinetry
- Large shingle roof tear-offs
- New construction framing waste
Local note. A 10 yard fits comfortably on a single-car driveway in the older Katy, Cinco Ranch and Cinco Ranch neighbourhoods where drives are narrow. It is also the container we place most often in West Katy and Bear Creek, where paver driveways and tight approaches reward a shorter can.

Call and describe the job. If a different size suits it better we will say so — we would rather send the right container than the more expensive one.

Every container we place is priced as a single flat rate covering delivery, the rental period, collection and disposal up to the stated weight allowance. We tell you the per-ton overage rate before you book, so if your load does come in heavy there is no surprise on the invoice.
What genuinely moves the price is the size and the density of the material, not the label on the job. Our pricing guide breaks the whole thing down.
